It’s that time of year again—seasonal routes are returning to Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP). Whether you’re flying out or welcoming friends in, here’s what’s back on the board.
Seasonal Routes Returning
Sun Country to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP)
The fan-favorite nonstop to MSP is back with Sun Country June 20th. Easy in, easy out, and a great option for regional trips or connections.
United to Chicago O’Hare (ORD)
American and United are both bringing back their seasonal Chicago routes. United’s service returns with more frequency (see below), and American’s starts back up in early May.
Delta to Atlanta (ATL) – Returns May 24
Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, Delta’s nonstop to Atlanta resumes—perfect for connecting through the world’s busiest hub.
American to Charlotte (CLT) – Returns Early June
A great option for East Coast travelers, American’s Charlotte flight comes back June 5th.
Increased Frequency on Existing Routes
It’s not just about what’s coming back—it’s also about more flights on the routes we already love. This summer, several popular destinations will see boosted service:
Allegiant to Mesa, AZ – Up to 5x per week by late June
Great news for sun-seekers: Allegiant is ramping up flights to Mesa, making spontaneous Arizona trips even easier.
Delta to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) – Increases to 4x per week in July
Delta’s service to MSP gets a mid-summer boost, giving travelers more flexibility to head north—or connect beyond.
United to Denver (DEN) – Up to 9x daily
Denver continues to be RAP’s busiest hub, and United is leaning in with up to nine daily flights. That’s a ton of connection options throughout the U.S. and internationally.
United to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) – Increases to 2x daily in early May
More frequency means more choices for getting to or through Chicago—and easier coordination with meetings, layovers, or weekend plans.
Summer travel from RAP is looking strong, with more flights, more frequency, and better connections. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to book that trip, this might be your sign.
