Watertown Regional Airport (ATY) reported 18.66% decline in passenger enplanements compared to the previous year. The latest data from the Department of Transportation (DOT) T100 reveals that monthly enplanements have consistently underperformed compared to 2023. By July, the airport had recorded 7,387 enplanements, a notable decrease from 9,082 during the same period in 2023.
ATY’s Essential Air Service (EAS) contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation is approaching renewal, with the new agreement starting on June 1, 2025. This contract is vital for sustaining air service in smaller communities like Watertown, with federal subsidies playing a key role. In April 2023, the approved funding for this service exceeded $6.7 million annually, marking a 7% increase from the previous agreement.
As of August 2024, ATY is served by Denver Air Connection with flights to Chicago O’ Hare and Denver.
